SuperNaturals, How can you ID an Engine?w/in>

I should clarify. The numbers are visible without taking the head off. It is on the landing where the head bolts onto, just in front of it. On the Camaros, it is rather difficult to see them under the accessories and Honker, and even though I inspected every one before I bought it, I still have trouble locating it every time. It is tough to find, but its there.

Mirrors, lights, and pain killer for the back and you can find 'em all right!

Oh, and one more clarification. The number is technically on the engine's "right" head, which is on the left when you're wrenchin'.

TTT ^^^ The info in this thread may be of interest to our newer folks - Enjoy! :beer

On early engines, the heads were hand ported, but on later heads, there is a number stamped into the front of the head to distinguish which CNC porting program had been used. These were done at Lingenfelter. Callaway's logo was also stamped on later heads when they had the machining done themselves.
