Just wanted to share my Friday night
test and tune results...

A couple weeks ago I added an SLP induction
system (3 k/n filters in a "claw" formation)
to the car. Easy installation even for me.

This car was bone stock dynoed at 266 rhp, 320
flywheel hp. In that form, I drove it to maybe
13.9 or so.

Then, back in '99 I added a K/N to the stock
box, 1.6 roller rockers, and a hypertech chip
with 160 stat. In that form, it dynoed at like
276 rhp, 333 flywheel hp. And I ran it to
a best of 13.65. I let RichR borrow it, he
ran 13.48!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, Friday I scored a 13.6 with the claw installed. Looking at Friday's times and some others from last year and from '99, the claw shaved .1 sec over last years best (maybe 3 runs last year)and equaled my all time best from '99.
If I subtract out my time to 60 feet (my starts are lousy), you can see that Friday's times (11.4, 11.45, 11.48 after 60 feet)are consistantly better than before (one 11.4 in '99 and some 11.5's out of many runs).

Hope you all enjoy this!

Thanks for the info. Baseline hp is something I need to do before tinkering.

paw,

you're only a few mods away from getting in the 12's!

Congrats and keep us posted on your mods and their results.:upthumbs

That is the neighborhood I want to be in, so do let us know how and when you get there.

How could I get to the 12s, do ya
think? I'm thinking MSD ignition,
52mm TB, then Flowmaster cat back.

And yes, Goodyear GS-C's.
Can't figure out how to
get them to stick.
I rev to 1500 and the
engine bogs a bit as
I hook up.

Last Friday I tried 3000 rpm
and I still got 2.17 sec to 60 feet.
A little better.

paw,

I would go with the FlowMaster catback first. It's a relatively low cost mod and you'll definitely hear it.

Someone on a different thread suggested removing all unnecessary weight:

spare tire-probably weighs 40 lbs.
jack-couple pounds
any little stuff you have in there-adds up
a half tank or less of gas

I love your storys, it is difficult for us to race a 1/4 mile.

I have a 58 TB with a custom 4" intake tube. I love your work! Tuesday my vette is on the Dyno, maby I have some more hidden hp.
