That car really is one mean machine.I was just curious as to why nowhere in the for sale ad does it mention that it is a LT5? Also is the 1994 twin turbo ZR1 you mentioned the blue one that was for sale at Carlisle a few years ago? JERRY

Knowing ths car, it is indeed one of 2 Super speedsters fitted with TT LT5's but the only one w/ LeMans body - other was a [edit]Cherry Smash [/edit] standard speedster body...

The blue TT LT5 mentioned was the zr1 bodied Callaway that was for sale (in 2000) at Corvettes @ Carlislle :)
Good memory :m

Whats different about the other Super Speedster's body? Doesn't it have like 2 ovals on the very front of the car instead of the 4 smaller rectangular holes?

Tough choice here...

I could probably unload the fleet and go for this one as well... but it doesn't seem like a good commuter car and it doesn't haul wood and mulch... oh well. I guess I'm getting old.

I agree with Chris that this is the most baddazz Callaway going. Insane power and outrageous styling to go with it. The Cherry Smash Super Speedster would be a close second. (Chris, please stop referring to it as "lipstick" or I'll have to punish you.) Then Barry's blue LT5 TT close behind.

89x2 if i look real hard i have alot of pictures of that blue TT LT5 as i always take detailed pictures of as many ZR1's as possible every year at Carlisle.I myself am more of a "stock" ZR1 guy,but i iwould take the blue TT LT5 and the red super speedster in a heartbeat....JERRY

Kevin - I went back and used my {edit] feature ;)

No, don't trade em all in for one - although tempting , I am sure the power would be addictive :m

Wonder if test drives , err... flies would be offered:upthumbs

Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't push that blue stock bodied car out of the garage but I would of course, rather have the Super Speedster series cars :m

Point Taken

You have a point but you also have to realized that the Technology is the same in both power plants to some degree.

I do agree that looks are 50% but when Barry's car was made he did not option the LM body package because of the $260,000 upgrade package which did not include the cost of the ZR1. As I understand it the cars you are speaking about cost about half of what the LT5 Supernatural ZR1 cost.

1994 ZR1 Supernatural Twin Turbo
Performance: 0-60mph- 3.2 sec..... 0-100mph- 6.4 sec.
1/4 miles- low 10s over 135mph.
Top end stock - Who knows?
All of this with 12lbs of boost or half what it can take.

This is a monster that looks like a regular ZR1 with front scoops. Yes, it does not have all the charm of the Super Callaways but its one HELL OF A SLEEPER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess when I hear someone say that ...."its the baddest car", I think performance first and looks last. So it comes down to what you want. A sleeper or a screamer. Both are good, it depends on your point of view.

While I am thinking, do you want all the info and pics on Barry's car for the "Callaway Owners Group" website? Post me... I can send it along with all the other stuff. I still need you address.

Take care,
Stan

Stan, both cars are Twin Turbo LT5's (Barry's and the LeMans Super Speedster)

The price that was mentioned earlier in this thread is not the asking price for the car ;) Contact Joanne Mercer for the details on that :)

Stan - Yes, If you would like to add that info to the site - that would be both neat & appreciated :m I will e mail you this weekend.

Enjoy :beer

I guess Im on the outs here.....I personally like the Aerobody super speedster better. Im not the biggest fan of the LM....Im Aerobody all the way.

Not to say I wouldn't trade my car straight up for it though... :D

Sounds Good to me!

I would take either of them in a heart beat!

How about both.............................................

Have to give one to David F............. Share and share alike!

Take care all,

Stan
