New Vette guy here, so pardon the questions. I am looking at an LT4 '96 vette and want an opinion on value and if its worth it. Black coupe, 72K miles, 2 owner. drives great, no squeaks no wrecks. looks really good for a 17 year old car. It has a K&N filter and triflo exhaust as well. It's at a dealer though and they have no service records. Minor fixes are scratches on the console, broken antenna, headliner is sagging, and need to reglue the rear weatherstrip. I have him at $10,000 right now and that seems good based on what I have seen online. Any thoughts? I know I'll need to put in some money in routine service right away for peace of mind. Also the bottoms of the seats seem to just pull out with no resistance. Is this normal?
Thanks!!

I purchased my 96 LT4 in March from a dealer. It was listed at 12K 95,000 miles, SLP intake with 3 K&N filters, Corsa exhaust, almost new tires, and both tops. The car ran great. The interior was also in good condition. I have seen prices from 8-15k for LT4s. Maybe this will help you determine if yours is a good deal.

We don't mind questions at all - that's part of the reason we're here!

I have no recent experience pricing a C4, LT1 or LT4 so I'm afraid I'm no help there but we have many members that should be along soon to add to jmhorn52's advice.

I just wanted to take a moment and welcome you to the :CAC
If you buy that LT4 - or another Vette - post a thread in the INTRODUCTIONS forum - New Member Introductions and some pix so we can .

Did you post a thread with pix of your new Purple LT4? Did I miss it? I'll have to do a search.
C'mon man - share! ;)

EDIT - now I remember: you did share.

The 96s going for big bucks are usually garage queen creampuffs needing nothing in the way of cosmetic or mechanical work. The one you describe sounds like a driver that has been used, but not been maintained to the high standard most of us expect. I guess it's worth what someone would pay, but since it's a dealer, I'd have them make it sales ready, and fix the issues you described. There are a LOT of really nice 96s out there.
