This morning, before I got into my Vette, I popped the hatch to put some things in. I then sat down and heard a ticking sound coming from the dash - sounded like just to the right of the HVAC console. Thought it might just be the timer for the interior lights. Turned the key -- nothing !! Dash lights would not come on; headlights would not rotate; horn was weak . . .etc. Dead battery.:mad

Charged it for about an hour and put the charger on "start" and it fired up. Drove to town, ran errands, had dinner, no more problems.

Never heard this sound before, but it sounded exactly like a timer. What the heck was this ticka . . .ticka . . .ticka sound? And more important, what's the fix?

Factory shop manual no help. Lost for ideas. :hb Any thoughts out there???

I sometimes get that ticking sound from the relay, when after I press one of the hatch buttons and it doesn't pop all the way back out...

Now I noted that my CD will not work - disk goes in OK, but panel display reads "E r r" , and the disk comes back out automatically. :mad Radio works great!

Any ideas out there? ;shrug

Geez . . . . electronics :hb

Do all your CD's do that , if not the CD be dirty. If it does it could that your
Lesser lens is dirty also.

The ticking was probably one of the hundred or so relays trying to fire but not having enough current to do so due to the dead battery.

The CD problem is due to the name BOSE on the face panel. Replace this panel with one marked Sony, Pioneer, JVC, etc. and all of you CD problems will go away.;)
