Tony, the best way I thought to do this, was to make a charcoal impression of the spokes - The distance from ridge edge to the words is layed out for your comparison. The center area is NOT to scale however.
Also, the air valve is between the lower two spokes - in the lip. This should give you an idea on how the words looked, as I did the charcoal rubbing on a wheel, as it sat.
