Nope, but someday.
HI there,
A customer of mine is in need of assistance, and I am at the end of my line as far as what I can do.
I would ask if someone has any information on parts acquisition for twin turbo Callaway powerplant, please post on this thread.
Right now, I am serving an 87 Twin Turbo Callaway, and it is in great shape for its year and mileage.
However, oil leaks are a problem here, specifically at the feed lines going into the Turbos.
If anyone has any information or suggestions, it would be appreciated.
I have already attempted to contact Callaway on 4 occasions and not had one return contact.
Thank you in advance, c4c5

is what I need.

You're in the same state as Callaway. If you tried reaching them this past week, everyone is scrambling to get ready for the largest Callaway show ever at Bloomington Gold in Illinois.

The soft oil feed lines become brittle with age. Also, those lines were initially installed with crimp on style connections. Tightening them up a bit is the obvious thing to do as I'm sure you've probably already done. Beyond there, be patient, there are a few owners who have handled this issue in the past.

What number car are you working on? XX of 184?

What color is it?

I hope this is of some help - Magic Dragon here on this forum, just replaced his lines on his 87. From what I understand, he ordered most, if not all the lines from Callaway recently.
I know Callaway Cars are preparing for the upcoming event, e-mail or call Joanne Mercer there, and she can point you in the right direction.

I hope this helps, I will also pass along word of this thread to Magic Dragon, as maybe he can offer some help to you. :m
Chris.

Hmm...

If you tried to contact them this last week perhaps they are tied up getting a few cars ready for the Bloomington show next week. However, in the past I have a good response from them. They usually return calls within 24 hours.

Oil leaks eventually do develop in the oil lines (the 87 is 17 years old now) and usually it is the crimp on clamps on the oil feed lines. You should definitely talk to Callaway (and probably replace the turbo oil and coolant lines).

However, a while ago I had some minor and annoying oil leaks and my mechanic used a special oil additive that when you shine a black light on (I think) you can trace where the oil leak comes from.

Good luck,

-Luigi

Impressive

HI there,
Thank you for all the help. I was unaware of the show coming up.
My experience with Callaway has always been great, which is what disturbed me so much.
I have mostly served the Supernatural line, including the 490 ZR1. I have never been challenged like this before and I like it, ALOT.
My first drive in a TT was impressive. My only goal now is to really make this car just like they did when they made it.
I have to do brakes, and some other stuff. Both lumbar seats dont work.
I would also like to see if the EPROM has been updated since manufacture.
The 4+3 overdrive unit is acting weird, so that is also in the works.
Below are 2 pics, for your enjoyment.
Thank you in advance for all your help, c4c5:hb

E, don't forget about the Mint green 87 w/ like colored dymags ;)

Hey c4c5, You picked a fine ride to work on. The B2k's like being worked on by people like you! I would use Callaway Cars to reproduce the oil lines. You should also consider replacing the coolant lines as said in an earlier post if they haven't been replaced yet. Callaway Cars might want you to send the old lines in so they can match up the new ones exactly as the old. Also ask for some crush washers for the banjo fittings (turbo side). Good Luck and thanks for posting!!!

The latest, called Callaway directly again, giving it one last shot. Thank god I did, becaust Tim Rice and Joe Jones came to my rescue.
Within 15 mins of talking, they pointed me in the correct direction, faxed me a parts diagram, and had me much more confident of working on this wonderful car.
SPECIALIST THANK YOU to all at Callaway cars and the CACC.
Allthebest, c4c5:hb
