universal joint on half shaft

Do a search, did mine several weeks ago. There are several complete writeups out there. In a nut shell, not bad.

I agree, just do a search. In terms of difficulty, it's not that bad of a job really, I would rather do a half-shaft u-joint than a power brake booster. My suggestion is to do both u-joints, as long as you're in there. You'll need a very large vise to press out/in the u-joint.

Not all that bad. I thought the hardest part was getting the car up in the air high enough for me to get under it so I could move around enough to work on it.

And I would say, if you are doing one side, go ahead and do the other side as well. Cost me about $100 for all 4 joints.

I haven't done this myself - maybe soon - but I have this bookmarked: link

Thanks for the replies regarding the universal joints on my car. It doesn't seem as big as job as I thought it would be. On the c3's it is a much bigger job.

So I understand, I don't remember it being that big of a job on my 64, but then again time has a way of making things a little blurry (I sold my 64 32 years ago). :chuckle
