update on idle prob.90 L 98

i had been having trouble with high idle, would not throw any codes and did not do it all the time. hard to find problem removed tb and found gasket was cracked where air passages were, made new gasket seemed to fix wrong finally put another ecm on that was prob. idles around 7/800 now, in gear 5/600 couple of members said they had same thing if you can swap ecm that might do the trick. thanks to everyone who helped geo. ps was looking at seat controls, and they look like they are burned under buttons is that a common thing. or should i check it out thought maybe prob. was to much weight when you move seat any help appr.

Glad to hear you got it figured out. Now maybe you will believe some of us. Sometimes its just that easy, instead of chasing your tail.


As far as the seat switches, my drivers side was not working when I bought my car. Come to find out the connector under the seat was disconnected. Plugged it back in and guess what it works (sort of) It would go forward but not reverse (guess thats why it was disconnected) of course I found out after I had the seat all the way forward. I'm not really a big guy right at 6 ft but with the seat all the way forward there was no way I could drive ... my knees were up around the steering wheel and hitting the dash. I ended up cutting the wires on the underside of the switch and reversing the forward and backward powers. Moved the switch forward and the seat went back .... whew! I promptly disconnected the connector. When I went to find a replacement guess what Discontinued. RRRGGGHHH! Almost two years later I found a set of seat switches on Ebay, replaced them and all is good. IIRC the passenger side switch is still available.
