As I mentioned in an earlier post my 92 has been showing all of the signes of a failing opti. Poor proformance, miss, searching idle, and reciently a huge studder when under load. I noticed that the accumulator was covered in frost and water, and it was blowing directly on the opti. Last week I disconected the a/c compressor to see if my opti symptoms continued.
Well 500 miles later, a 300 mile trip over the mountains to the oregon coast. Absolutly no sign of opti problems, the car runns better than it has in a year ! 27 mpg on the trip, no searching idle, no miss.
Further investigation indicates, frost is a sign of low charge in ther a/c so now to get it charged.
If anyone is experiencing problems, and cant find a water pump leak, check for frost !
