Anybody got any ideas ??? The valve stem on my buddies C6 will let air out but will not permit any air in. Can you remove just the stem, or do you have to remove the entire stem and sensor???

:beer I'm sure someone here can shed some light on the subject, but have you tried the C6 forum?

I moved this to the c6 section. Maybe you'll get the info you need there.

Hi there,
You can replace just the valve core itself, but it could be a sensor.
It should be covered by factory warranty, as long as there is no impact damage to the sensor.

Try changing the stem first. If you still can't get air in the tire; try removing the stem and adding air without the stem (there might be something blocking the inlet through the sensor). If you still can't get air in the tire new sensors are about $80 each and they don't come with the installation hardware (washer & nut) which is another $10. Plus breakdown $20 at your local tire outlet (some people will not breakdown a run flat so call first).

valve stem update

The problem was an o-ring from the cap had gotten lodged down in the valve. Removed o-ring, problem solved.

Who found it, you or the dealer?;)

I had that problem on my C5 - several times. I ended up just removing the O-Rings from the cap.
