About three weeks ago I stopped in at the local Ford dealer to pick up a title to a used car the wife and I traded for. I park right behind this F150 4x4, as soon as I turn off the car, I see the back up lights come on the F150 and start coming back, I lay on the horn to no avail.

The driver gets out apologizing all to heck, and low and behold it is the owner of the dealership. He has me take it around to the body shop and get an estimate. The Body shop manager is very nice and tells me that it will be fixed right. He gives me a copy of the estimate.

Now I may be trivializing my attitude, I might add I was not a happy camper when this occurred. I take the estimate home and start reviewing it and noticed that they had priced an "economy part" for the bumper cover. I called to let them know that was not going to be acceptable, and after some talk they agreed.

This past Monday I took the car in to get it fixed. I asked several questions about how things would be done and I got the right answers, so I felt pretty good about leaving it and assured that things would be done right.

Today I went in to pick the car up...I am very pleased with the outcome. They did a good job and went the extra yard to make sure it was done right.

Oh, I was so afraid the end of your post was not going to be good...I'm very glad it had a happy outcome! Yea! Chalk one up for people taking responsibility and doing the right thing.

The owner of the dealership should be applauded for doing the right thing! :upthumbs

Then he should be smacked upside his head for backing into you! ;LOL

It's great that everything turned out for you! I parked behind a pickup truck in a few years back in one of my other cars when I went to the gym. When I came out my alarm was sounding. The pickup smashed the front of my car and drove off. Found a piece of paper between my wiper and my windshield with nothing on it. I'll never park behind a truck again. Especially in my Vette!

I’m glad to hear that you were taken care of and are happy with the results.

Thumbs up for the Ford dealership making it right. :upthumbs

to the owner for stepping up.

Thanks for all the well wishes and support. I am pleased that the owner came through and did the right thing. I must admit I was a little bit leary of the whole ordeal. After it happened I talked to my insurance agent and she said don't worry that he (the ownerof the dealership) was a good guy and that he would take care of it. I guess my biggest concern was that we never called the police, never talked about his insurance covering it, just "take it back to the body shop and get an estimate". But, "All's well that ends well". My worrying was all for naught.

I'm wondering if you could post the name of your dealer. He would appear to be a man of honor...a rarity these days.

WHEW!

Looks like this turned out well except for the obligatory elevated blood pressure when it occurred.:mad I try to be careful where I park but I still sometimes am forced into parking where I would prefer not to and or leaving the thing for a few hours. Rockies ballgames come to mind. This past weekend I had baseball practice and had to do both. Breathed a sigh of relief when I returned to the car and everything was just like I left it! :upthumbs Snowing here this morning but nothing like the "UBERSTORM" the news people have been shouting at us for three days.

It sure is great to hear a positive story about a dealership, even if it is the "F" dealerships!

The Ford dealership is Burtis Motors in Garden City, Kansas, the owners name is Jack Kirchoff. By the way they were very good on the price of the used car I bought as well. Traded my 99 Volvo for an 03 Bonneville SSEi going in I had a price difference in mind and their first offer was within $300 of my figure. I'd go back there again.........just NOT in the Vette. :rotfl

Greg, we are catching in pretty good, no school today. We've had about 10" already, most of it coming "down" horizontally.
