I was browsing looking for different ways to tint my windows to a shade where I could protect the interior of my 71 under my restro plan. I came across PPG’s website also looking for paint ideas.

Hopefully if we the Corvette owners like this enough PPG will produce the C3 windows at a reasonable cost, especially through the Corvette Forum for their members (hint).

The Sungate automotive windshield. The Sungate windshield technology is based on PPG’s extensive experience in high-performance architectural glass, and on its proven success in reducing heating and air conditioning loads in residential and commercial buildings.

Although what I found that was better is this NEW LEVEL OF GLASS BREAK-IN PROTECTION.

Safe and Sound automotive glass is produced by PPG Industries, a world leader in automotive glazing. Designed to fit into the standard door channel, the lightweight windows are installed at the assembly plant and meet or exceed all federal and car manufacturer standards for performance and function. The inner and outer glass surfaces of the windows provide the worry-free durability you have come to expect.

Very interesting, thanks for posting this valuable information.

That sounds like it couls be a very cool Group Buy. :D

The only drawback is that you can toss your radar detectors, as most won't work behind that glass, or they will lose up to 80% effectiveness (which is close enough to being worthless...)

If there is a drawback with the radar detectors that won't work behind that glass, "then" we need a detector that can be installed from the front grille to the rear end.

I know there is one out there, i seen it before years ago when i was looking for a radar detector online.
