Can anyone suggest what to put on the weatherstripping around the Targa Top to keep it soft? Thanks for the help!

BMW Gummi Phlege. Strange name, but it does a great job. Can typically be purchased at a BMW parts counter. Been using it for 2 1/2 years now. Very good stuff. :)

Thanks Ruby, I'll give it a try. BTW, what does it cost?

I tried...

I tried Dielectric Connector Grease as suggested in an earlier post on this same topic. Wipe on, let it set, wipe off.
Working fine now. and available in any auto parts store.
Its used for spark plugs so you will find it in that section of the store. adhesives and greases..

Good luck btw, its cheap under 5$

Dielectric grease is the best way to go. Your local parts store will have it for fairly cheap. I got a couple of tubes of Permatex p/n 67VR for around $1.39 each. They are only 1/3 oz tubes but still cheaper than the GM stuff.

Wipe it on sparingly with your finger and rub in. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes then wipe with a clean rag with light pressure. You may have to wipe the edges of the door windows for awhile but it will soak in.

I was looking in Mid America today. Has anyone tried the silicon grease to stop drips ?

About $8.00 per tube. The tubes are close in size to a tube of toothpaste.
