Well guess what, my AIM is missing those pages....
So THANKS and I guess I'm getting my self a NEW AIM....

Not much to report...
Center console repainted... new console repair kit in... radio side panels painted.
Carpet ordered....

Not a lot of progress... but some....

Still looking for a more correct intake ( 461 ) and carb....

Plumbing, shopping, pool maint, and a push from the dog , slip on gardenhose sent me in the pool today...WOAH WOAH DOH ! SPLASH BRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...;LOL

I have seen several of those manifolds (3844461) at swapmeets over the past year, What are you willing to pay? I'll get the guys phone number (he has 3) and pass it along. Are you looking fro a specific date or just a manifold in general. I did get a bellhousing for a 153 tooth flywheel from him for my son's Nova.

Mark.

A clean manifold

Numbers matching is not an issue for me... if I have the " correct " part it stays on....if the correct part fails ( like the brake booster ) I'll keep it...
The only thing that " matches " is the pink to the vin LOL ( and maybe the clock ). I'm just going for " looks right for the time frame ".

Cool I'll check it out. Of course now that I've committed to this I'll never see the guy again. He does hit the car shows and swap meets here in the S.F. Bay Area, I don't know if he travels to the SoCal area.

Mark.

Thanks Mark!

And I know all about Murphys laws!
LOL

Fireo seat upgrade.. Oh SNAP something went right....

So the shop called today and stated they wanted my butt down there to verify fit of the seats....
The also stated that the 88 Fiero seats picked up all the existing bolt holes... NO sub bracket needed..
WTF... something went according to plan... something is amiss!

Mike

Goalllllllll

4 small brackets fabbed to the new Fiero seat tracks ( per seat ) and it's GOLD.....
So still able to use stock OR fiero.....

1 minor problem.... now that these seats have padding I might have to get a tilt tele coulmn or go on a diet ! LOL

For a long Christmas sleep

Well Santa's sled will be sitting on the sidelines a bit longer at the shop....
but that's OK.....
With visions of new intake & carb dancin in it's head..
The fuel line & pump have been hung in the car with care...
Hoping that Saint UPS will soon be there

And that being said....
Merry Christmas~

Mike

Went to visit Mutley yesterday

So Ritchie said you have to come down and take your sled for a ride.....

So to get the rear end profile the way I wanted it I had the shop remove 2 of the leafs on the new spring AND use the LONG bolts....
Now the car sits low & mean ( doing final tweeks on alignment ) .... Plus the ride is much nicer..
Before every time I hit a speed bump my spine would dislodge.. and it doesn't look so agriculture anymore!

I like the new fiero seats... ( need to pull a bit of padding out when they are re done ).
( the grey velour just isn't working for me )

New fuel sender is in .. no leaks, gauge works. Hi torque starter is in.. works great...

Center console is all snazzed up with new paint, trim bits and fake hurst/GM shifter... PLUS the ash tray door now WORKS....

Left to go:
Waiting on hurst reverse lever on tranny W hole for B/U light linkage.
New fuel pump, filter & lines..
Alt relocation ( Starting today )...

Next steps...
New carpet came in.. and have to order seat covers...
Then clock restore...

Still on the prowl for " correct carb & manifold "...

Mike

Just an update

I have the car back.. ( Pix tomorrow ).
Need to wire the rev sw to the lighting system ( not stock rev lights ).
While doing all this I find I'm missing the Y duct behind the dash ( whoops ) for the heater.
Going to take her out for a little shake down run tomorrow....

Bout time Mike! How long have you had her "tied up"? She'll probably enjoy the exercise,
and I know she has a few things she wants to tell you. :L I REALLY hope that most of them are GOOD!
Andy :w

Ride height specifications

Mike,
You were looking for the ride height specifications for your roadster a while back. <http: tech.corvettecentral.com="" 2011="" 04="" c2-c3-corvette-ride-height-guide="" #utm_source="newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=january-2013-c2-new-products"> Corvette Central has collated a specification chart on ride height.

</http:>http://tech.corvettecentral.com/2011/04/c2-c3-corvette-ride-height-guide/#utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=january-2013-c2-new-products<http: tech.corvettecentral.com="" 2011="" 04="" c2-c3-corvette-ride-height-guide="" #utm_source="newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=january-2013-c2-new-products">

HAZA I'm BACK and the easter bunny strikes

So new caps & trim rings, new seats ( yes I had to not put in all the padding) , new carpet. reset the timing & vac advance PROPERLY and it's a whole new ride....AND installed the reverse lights B/U relay so that's all done...Plus ordered some super bright even field LED's for the taillights & new lighting gaskets.
BUT the carb has a problem, the bushing in the throttle plate has worn out and I cannot get below 900 for idle... oh well...

Had another nagging problem, since the install of the Vac booster, 1 out of 10 times the brake light would hang ON.. well a Spectra CHROME carb spring took care of that issue going from the back of the pedal
to the Steering wheel support bracket.. for a little extra help...

PLUS scored a set of 4 western aluminum knockoff's CHEAP & CLEAN.. arriving next week...

Still on the hunt for a more " correct " manifold ( and now carb ).

Plus the tighten down the intake manifold trick solved SOME of my oil burning issues.....
AND

I scored a 64 clock complete, cleaned & oiled the movement, burnished the contacts and it's working ( kinda ) ... it keeps time ( minutes & seconds ) but most of the plastic gears are done...
So this get's sent out to Rodgers gauges next week.

HAPPY EASTER

Mike

Clock repair

So I bought one of those E bay kits... and after a couple of OH BY THE WAYS.... it's almost back in one piece.... It's on the bench ticking away... so this will be the " temp clock"....
63 82 Corvette Quartz Conversion Clock Repair Kit with Instructional DVD | eBay

The OH by the ways....
The replacement grommets need to go in backwards ( fat side twds face ) or setting the time will be almost impossible since there will be to much clearance, the gear will pop UP and no longer mesh
reversing the grommets reduces the height between the white backing plate and the gear allowing it to stay captive & meshed.

All of the original plastic gears were missing teeth.. some of those teeth got stuck in the metal gears you need to reuse... a good clean , inspection & lube... and your good.

The minute clutch needs to be loosened a bit and of course cleaned & lubed...

So now I need to find some needle paint & I can re assemble....
