Shane,

This is the best news!!! Your girlfriend is far wiser beyond her years, and I admire her for that. This is great!!

Elaine

Awesome news bud. Now get out there and enjoy the vette! You will never have another one like it, they are all different.

You just had something reinforced that you probably already knew. Your lady loves you. You have comunication lines between you that are not often seen. Hang on to her like there is nobody else like her. Which appears to be the case for you. You have two of the greatest things in this world , a girl that loves you and a vette you love second only to your girl. :upthumbs

It sounds to me like it is time to wash and wax the Vette, pop the top and take the lady for a long drive in the country that ends at her favorite restaurant.:w

Exactly!

Thank you everyone for all your kind words. Although she is young (23) she thinks like a 35 year old. And I guess I am young too (30) although I think like a 23 year old so we have a good balance. In the beginning of our relationship we had alot of trouble because we just didn't talk about things.
It was my grandfather (curently 87 years young) who had shown me the light that talking opens up doors. He told me this is the key to longevity in a relationship. Now we sit down every 3-4 months and look at where we are and where we want to be and what we need to do to get there. It's a good system. We're going on 3 years of being together and are happy as fools. We make all our friends sick cause we act like we just started dating. She truly is an understanding gal. And she is trying to get into the vette, Some things just take time. However, she did agree to help me install my vortex air rammer on the car this weekend. So that's a start!
Thanks for listening everyone,
Shane

MAKE IT A FUN EXPERIENCE!
Especially if you want her to 'assist' you with the vette again. Have your tools laid out so she doesn't have to hunt for them and put some cool tunes on a radio. Have some soda and snacks nearby, too.
I usually just sit with Kenny and Keep him company when I 'help' him. I hate searching for tools that I don't know what they look like or which drawer they're kept in.
Once again, MAKE IT FUN AND EASY for her to want to help.

Thanks Heidi,
I'll try to find a nice big tree to put it under. Maybe catch a good country station and Break out the 2 litre of coke. Good suggestions on the tools! Thanks.
Shane

Let her do some easy wrenching, too. I thoroughly enjoyed the process of building our engine when I got to "man-handle" the torque wrench putting on the heads and manifold. It was an "I did that!" moment! ;)

How did I miss your being in Tampa?
After you get the Vortex bolted on take her on a ¨test¨ run to Longboat Key and pull into Moors Stone Crab for a quick snack of the best claws on the Gulf Coast.
Just do not get too :louthat big Motorcycle Cop that has been prowling Longboat for the last 20 years is still famous for TAXING visitors in sports cars.

A long, long time ago in a Universe far, far away I spent one of my lifetimes sailing and fishing between New Orleans and Key West. Many a night was spent tied up beside the Busted Flush or at least a sister ship and I am here to tell you John McDonald got it right. Travis and all of the other characters were real life figures on the Gulf during the 70s & 80s.

Before my distant relatives turned Longboat into a condo for the circumcised leisure suit crowd*, i.e. old Jews who drove Chryslers before Lee Iacocca, Longboat had more than its share of colorful people. Robert and Mary Moor were among the best. We considered each other family more than friends; so much so that my address for the last few years that I lived in the US was at the restaurant.

*nobody can call me a bigot for this…. The Red Sea Pedestrian.:eyerole

Shane...Just read with interest your posts.. Did u put in the vortex??? How did it go??

Good to c all worked out.....I drive junker cars that get my family where they need to go..I have 2 teenagers a handicapped wife, 3 cats and 2 hampsters!!!
