What a PITA job THAT was!

Just got finished removing the radiator and thoroughly cleaning it and cleaning the A/C condensor (which was dirtier than the radiator), did the Throttle Body bypass myself with no aftermarket kit to waste money on, and removed the MAF screens.

Took most of the frigging day too, when I COULD'VE been out cruising around instead, in the 85 deg weather. At least I can look at it and think of all the money I saved by not paying someone else to do it.

If I could get my hands on the fool engineer that thought it was cute to put those three little stinking screws along the sides of the radiator housing, I would castrate the bum!

Just how the hell does anyone get the ones on the drivers side back in? I left them out. As far as I'm concerned, "it came that way" from the factory.

If you are talking about the 3 small sheet metal screws down the side you have my sympathy. When I did this job I reversed the clips and put them on the opposite panel and screwed the sheetmetal screws in from the other side. This allowed a better access to the screw heads from under the car and inside the air intake. Still no walk in the park but a little easier to deal with in the future. Just a suggestion for the next time.

Hi Randy, yes that is the little buggers I'm talking about. After much ranting and cussing I managed to finally get them off, but I'll be damned if I'm gonna put them back on.

That is, unless there is a really GOOD reason for them being there. Is there? Otherwise, like I said, as far as I'm concerned, it came that way from the factory (with them off).

I did the cleaning thing earlier this summer on my 92. After scratching my head for an hour, I removed the AIR pump from the drivers side and found direct access to those little screws ! It took some time, but it was not difficult.

Sure! Remove the air pump. Now, why didn't I think of that? Ok, I'll give it a shot tomorrow and see how it goes.
