What job do we C4 owners have?

We have thrust.... 214,000 lb of it. (equals zero horsepower) Thrust is a force, HP is a measure of power (work).

WhalePirot, I spent 5 years building GE jet engines for the F-16 fighter aircraft in Turkey, those had 28,000 Lbs thrust - much less than commercial engines. They are really one hell of a piece of equipment. There can be no other mechanical equipment with the precision, complexity and power of a jet engine.

I had old timers from GE as my friends, who always told us that commercial engines are more difficult to produce since they work around the clock whereas military engines are for missions with much smaller range & shorter duration. I mean they take off, do their specific mission, and come back home and rest for quite a while.

And yes, there is always a confusion between Hp of a car motor and jet engine. Jet engines do not produce torque / power (unless used for turbo prop applications). The mere output of the jet engine is what comes out of its rear end (excuse my French...); i.e. thrust...

Started out with a fire fighting career plan but a gas station fire brought that plan to an abrupt end. I trashed a knee at the fire & 3 knee surgeries later was retired. Started a 2nd career as an RN. My plan was to work in air transport.... hoping for helicopter. I never even applied..... I became supervisor of an IV therapy dept. & like it here so much, they'll have to show me where the door is before I'll give it up.
The only work picture I have is my past job.......

Farm worker, burger flipper, Missile Facilties Tech on a Titan II ICBM Crew, engineering student, caddie, Mechanical Engineer. Bought my 'vette in December. I don't think I could deal with a story like Jennavette's. Reasoned comittment or heardheaded?

Currently I'm a part-time travel agent,on most weekends I teach flying(CFI-A) and when time allows,a Respiratory Therapist. I'm exhausted.......:D

I spent a hitch in the USN followed by many years with IBM as an EE. After an uplanned early retirement from IBM I am now working for Seagate Technology as a Reliability Engineer. I tell people that this is my retirement job. :D

Operations Manager for a large Phx based construction supplier (by day)

If I told ya, I'd have to kill ya! :r (by night) :L

Television Station Chief Engineer.

I don't have a wife or kids but I do have an 18 year old Corvette now on its second engine with 147,000 miles. Used as a daily driver when it runs!

All great jobs and great people, me, been passing gas for 30 plus years and still at it. Fantastic job, when my patients have too much to say its night night and when they wake up so happy no pain and all is well. I am a CRNA ( Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist ) and boy do you need me before the knife drops. All my patients are special and each I treat as if my own family, own child that is my standward of care.

Ever bring any samples home? I bet you'd be very popular at party's;LOL

Rowdy, no all the drugs I use are special and require great experience to use them in a professional setting as you might expect, though in the old days ether was sniffed at parties and people fellover then spent a week being sick. The narcotics are habit forming and dangerous. All of the gas agents require special tools to use with fine calabration as they are potent and must be ajusted correctly. No party sniffs and no party shots and no party pills. But in the OR they work fantastic. It always seems a marval to me to have a patient asleep one minute and the next awake and say to me, " I cannot believe its over and I did not feel anything" That to me is the greatest thing and makes my day, or have a parent thank me for taking good care of their sick little child.

I have a small injection molding operation. We mold insulators and washers for the electric/electronic manufacturing industry.

We also manufacture a proprietary product line for muzzleloading deer hunters. If you hunt deer with a muzzleloader there is an 8 out of 10 chance you use our products.

I am also a hobby farmer......love it......someday if I ever get enough smarts to make a living at it I will be a real farmer! Arvette

In chronological order:
Farm hand- Found out I didn't want to farm for a living.

Burgerflipper- I never eat at McD's any more.

U.S. Marine (Amtracks-2141)-dropped out of college and enlisted on 17 Jan 1991 (1st Day of Desert Storm) Spent 4 years in Hawaii & Far East. Life was a real beach! We had hula girls, tiki huts, and everything;)

Workplace Safety & Environmental Consultant- 1st job after college. I got tired of working with clients who used our advice to comply with the regs to the smallest extent possible. Some of the things I saw would amaze you.

and now.... Independent Computer Consultant- Paid for my college this way and decided to go back to it. I love helping people solve their problems and as an added bonus I get to see how many different businesses work.

Now if I could get a tech support contract for the Bowling Green plant....

Well I work for GENERAL MOTORS for 23 years building Cavaliers. We build the Cobalt now. I am an electrician need 2 credits for my EE degree( don't want it). Was in the USN for 8 yrs before tracking Russian subs loved the work hated the Lifers.

Worked for a company named after the "Aviator" for many years until it was sold first to GM and then to Raytheon. Retired as a Project Manager after seeing much of the world on expense account. Not a bad career. Other vehicles include a 1966 F100 hay hauler and a 1945 Case tractor.

Ed, is this detective type of thing? What sorts of things do you investigate?

Things like people not wanting to work so they don't have to pay child support, cheating spouses and other forms of fraud.
