AC Delco Oil Filter

Here's a picture of all three Corvette Oil Filters. These are good for all 1997-2008 Corvettes (except Z06). The Corvette oil filters are all the same size. PF44, PF46, and UPF44. I like to use the UPF44 Gold Filter.

Here's the picture. Hope they come out today.PF44, PF46, and UPF44.

What is the advantage ;shrug of using the UPF44 anyway? The PF46 is just a replacement for the PF44 that isn't made anymore isn't that right?

Thanks,
Bill :w

AC filters

That's correct about the PF44 vs PF46. Identical, just updated with a new number. The UPF44 has a 100% Synthetic Media that traps smaller particles and improves oil flow. Also has a Wire backing that protects the media from tears and provides uniform spacing between each pleat for again improved oil flow. Plus it comes with a Teflon Coated Gasket for superior protection against leakage and eaiser installation (don't have to grease gasket)and removal. Hope this helps.:beer >George

Thanks for the information; already serviced mine this year next time maybe I will use the UPF44 due to using synthetic Mobile 1. They do not put this UPF44 on Vettes from the factory do they?

Thanks again for the info,
Bill :w

No they don't use the UPF44 style from the factory. But Corvette in past years had black filters from the factory. My 1995 Corvette had a Black AC Delco PF51 style filter.I have pictures.

I, too, use the K&N filter and Mobil 1 syn oil. It's all a matter of personal choice. If you're going to change your oil on a regular basis I don't see what difference your choice of oil filters matter just as long as you use one that's dependable. I just prefer the K&N.

I change at 50%, Mobil 1, and I use a Mobil 1 Filter.
