For me, it was an 87 Grand Natl. w/ 18psi and a TA 61 "stock" turbo ;) and some other goodies...

I also spent some time behind the wheel of my brothers AWD Talon TSI w/ 16+ psi :eek AWD, 6k rpm launches:Steer

Those are the machines that made me a turbo believer :upthumbs

My friend had a B&M "Supervette" w/ a roots blower and a 4 injector underhood EFI - that car was "supposed" to compete w/ a Callaway at a fraction of the cost... It did run 12.8 in the 1/4 mi (1988 4+3 Vert) however, an 87 B2K ran 12.7 side by side w/ it :D

Baddd machines, all :m

What were your experiences w/ Boost, prior to Callaway ownership???

Lets see

75 Stingray
84 Z51
85 4+3
97 Eclipse GSX AWD Turbo
97 Z28 6speed
95 Jeep Wrangler hardtop

and a few boring drivers. :D

Pre-Callaway? Well, there's a lotta stuff not worth mentioning that were beater get around cars. But, the turbo bug bit me in early '86 with the Shelby Dodge Chargers. Man o man did I dump money into one of those and finally sold it with 160k miles. That car was a blast. Crude, but fast. Even into the 90's that highly pressurized 4 banger put a hurtin on the Rustang 5.0 crowd. Dood's just couldn't believe they were getting beat by a 4 banger! Then I got into Vettes and been there ever since!

...Steve, Daily :confused but you are only home 3.6 days a month :Silly

Yeah, but, it's the only place in the U.S.A where the top is peeled back and the windows are down 3-6-5 days per year! Unbelievable but true!

The only turbocharged vehicle I've owned so far is my truck, it's a 1990 Dodge 3/4 ton 4x4 with the Cummins turbo diesel. This truck stock made only 160 HP and 400 lbs/ft of torque at the crank, but after the mods I have made my best #'s to date are 355 HP and 873 lbs/ft of torque at the tires. The truck is old, ugly, and big but it sure does surprise alot of people at the stoplights:grinshot .

I used to own a 86 vette convertible and I honestly think this truck would pull it to 80 mph, as it runs pretty close with my Trans Am GTA. That will all change when I buy a Callaway.

Best regards,
Kurt.

My first turbo car was also a 1987 Grand National back in 1987.

A couple of years ago though I was going through my Pre-Mid-Life-Crisis and found some old pictures doing burn outs way back when. So I started looking around and was surprised that they had held their value and were still cherished. And now I could afford a GNX, so I bought 2 :Silly , One to use and one to Queen (Gee sounds like someone else I know ;) ) See Luigi's GNX Site

So after I got tired of hearing the whining about the car, I sold the Trailer Queen and bought my Callaway. So I still got to keep my 2 favorite cars. :love

And now I also got a Supercharged Jaguar XKR, not turbo but still Forced Induction! :Steer

That's awesome Luigi !!! I wish I could have bought one new as most I see now are either modded out, rusted out (lower doors, etc) or WAY high on the price) The cars were 14-17g's new, they Still are 14-17g's for a clean used one, If the one I had (a Florida car, by was of Brockton, Mass) hadn't shifted so hard, my bride might have entertained the idea of another...

Luigi - You have to take me for a spin in the GNX if I ever make it down your way :m

'87 Subaru Turbo Rx. Pretty fun and held up well for 10 years.

my turbo fix

2 turbo buick Regal T (1 near stock, 12.9 et, 1 modified 11.24,, should tip 10s now)

turbo voyager mini van, male appendage reduction utility, but it did do a good job of hauling parts

turbo volvo wagon (for the Ms. to replace the aging plym minivan)

now,

1 turbo buick (more of a monster, can't part with the ol buford, it's the only car I ever bought NEW!!

2 zr1s,

93 LPE 475 (pulls 390+ at wheels

95 LPE LSV 390, pulls 518+ at wheels

94 LT1 auto (stock, but nice)

Jeep Grand Cherokee,
toyota celica,

when I actually need to be sure to get the girls there!!

before all this I had

70 formula firebird (400, 4sp, 4.10s) loved the hood and the look.
70 TA (with a LS6 454 BB chevy, 833 "crash box" 4.88 rear) very entertaining, would pull 7k+ shifts and hit 100 real quick!!

71 TA stock, w air, 1st year of the 455 HO, NICE!!!
72 TA (mutt, bad shape, had a 350 that barely ran!!!)
74 Super Duty TA (man that one was nice, but it was an Auto)

1968 conv vette ((slow, 350 slush box, but it did have both tops)
1971 vette (home brew 427 BB, L88 bottom end, Edlebrock RPM heads/intake, 500 HP +++) - sold it to a buddy, for sale again in
the low 10-12k range!!) does need work though
1969 Vette 4 speed coupe, torch red repaint, pretty but the 350 was a bit weak in that one, did have killer side pipes (LOUD!!)

hopped up RX7, RX2 (early rotary experiments, loved the RX7)
69 camaro (powerglide OMG!!!)
65 imp, $100 car, sold it and made 1200
1974 toyota (2 of em, my first car, indestructable, but very slow)
1968 lincoln continental (pass everything but a gas station!!0
1974 lincoln (longest hood every, very nice car, & cheap!!, last of the 460, so smooth you wondered if it was running!!)

gee, it was fun to think of em all, probably forgot a few at that I have had over all the years, no old man jokes please, but

$*$&% I've never had a callaway, need to fix that!!!
