Wheel weights won't clear calipers

You know, the other corvette forums touts the Hankook as one of the best tires known to man. As far as Korean automotive quality. When I was stationed in Korea 2 years ago we took a tour of the Hyundai plant as well as a Hankook plant. Their attention to detail and quality is top notch. They reject flaws in products that an American assembly line would push right through. Just saying, just because it isnt American doesnt mean it isnt done correctly. Chinese made stuff may be inferior but Korean made products are usually pretty good.

it could be a 1/2 once , the weights won't clear the caliper with the mags , it's that close

been there , done that , own 2 sets of magnesiums (instead of bought the shirt ) :rotfl

What tires are on these wheels?

Also, what happened when the shop tried to balance the other three? Were they as far out of balance as the first one?

3oz is a "ton" of weight for a passenger car tire.

Rather than consider some of the unusual ideas like shaving the weights or modifying the brake calipers, I'd be looking at either 1) a tire which is defective or 2) a wheel that might have a flaw.

Heck...maybe the reason the previous owner sold the wheels is one of them has a defect.

this thread sure got sidetracked.....:ugh
