Hi All!

(my first post - be gentle)

I am interested to know what veteran C-4 1988 owners would recommend for wheel upgrades. I am looking for 17" forged aluminum rims (ZR-1 style).

Please let me know what your experience has been and suggestions. I currently have (4) P275/40ZR17 tires on 10" 1990 C-4 rims.

Thank you!!!

I'd consider just having your current wheels chromed...they'd look fantastic, and it's a whole lot cheaper!! Of course, I'm partial to the chrome ZR-1 style wheels which I recently put on my Grand Sport, replacing the black ZR-1 style wheels. What a difference chrome makes!:_rock

I picked up a set of new ZR1 replica wheels for about $500 delivered from AFS wheels (EBAY) and they look really good

Yeah, I have a set coming to my house today that I got on ebay, but I found out that they are inferior quality (not forged aluminum alloy). How have they held up for you? I'm about to return them before I even open the boxes.

Thanks!

Inferior quality really, Hmm Well what is the net effect on that? I'm not sure, I guess I can understand it being an issue on a vehicle that is 10000 lbs but do the loads on these wheels really justify the forging process? Or does casting provide the required strength? I don't know

So how are the AFS wheels holding up?

It seems everyone has the same old wheels. It doesnt seem like much variation. I would gladly put chromed zr-1 rims on my car but they are pretty costly. Does anyone have non-corvette rims on their corvette? like american-racing and what not, im looking for the cheaper unique look

I havent had any difficulty with my AFS rims. They look good balanced out well. I think the biggest problem with any rim is when you abuse it with curbs and when you dont torque your rims properly.

Getting a rim thats forged wont address that

AFS Wheels ZR-1

I have chromed ZR-1 Wheels from AFS and i am very satisfied with them.
