I am interested in anyone's opinion of Wilcox. I am in search of a differential for my 72, upgrading to 355s or 370s ( any thoughts on this as well, which one is better for city/highway driving?) , I heard theyll give you a discount if youre a member of CAC. Anyone know if there is someone cheaper for differentials?

Any help is appreciated :w

Wilcox is a great company. I've ordered numerous items from them; good quality.

You don't have to purchase the whole differential... just the ring and pinion gears. I have 3.70:1; not sure if you'll note much of an appreciable difference with a switch from 3.55:1... Your call of course if it's worth the effort.

I have 308 or 330 in mine right now, how does the 370 ride on the highway, going about 70, 75, rpms way up?

I have 3:70 in my 69 i believe it is about 3,200 at aprox 65 to70 :ugh. I like the 3:55 myself it seems like a pretty good all around gear. not as hard on the motor on the highway and winds up nice around town ;) Steve

I've purchased from Wilcox as well. Only once, but based on that one purchase, I highly recommend them. Customer Service was excellent, they didn't gouge me on shipping, and in the kit I ordered, they actually sent me more versus what the other places were selling individually for a higher price!

As for checking RPM with certain rear ends, we've got that here too! Check it out! CLICK!

:) Good company.

They blocked me from buying from them on ebay because I had asked them to personally inspect a speedo/tach lens for blemishes for me (I was on my third).

I got a reply from them in very large font that "this was as good as anything GM ever sent out" (I beg to differ). The email was tacky, large font is the same as yelling to me.

Then they blocked me from purchasing anything else ...after I have done spent almost $2000 with them already (on and off ebay) and this was my first actual request for them to do something personally for me. I had problems getting a decent speedo/tach lens for my 82 and was hoping they would come through for me. I mean this was something I would have to stare at everytime I drive my car.

Oh well, but this is only one complaint versus all they good you'll see in this thread so you make the call for yourself. :cool

I had good luck with them on the small purchase I made. On the rear gears, I have a 3.70 in mine with a 700R-4 and 60 MPH=1900RPM.

Ive used them a few times and will again. great product and price but i wasnt to happy with the customer service.
