Hi Everyone,

I have posted several questions lately and I want to thank those who have taken the tim eto respond. ANd now, I have another:

My windsheild washer pump does not work. I have not had time to investigate but it seems that I hear a relay energizing on the firewall but I have no results. I have a Chilton manual but it simply says to remove the pump from the reservoir and check it.

That is all good and well but I can't for the life of me see any way to get to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

J

You need to take off the access panel on the passenger side fender (where the rectangular outlets are). It's the same procedure as replacing the battery - use a socket wrench on the top bolt and a box wrench on the hidden bolt just above the rocker panel. Then there are two bolts inside the fender area that hold the washer reservoir on (and one's a royal pain to get to). Then carefully remove the reservoir, unplug it (if it's plugged in... it may have worked loose), and detach the fluid hose.

Incidently - be VERY careful when playing with the motor. It's held in to the reservoir by the pickup screen, which is screwed to it from the INSIDE of the container... If you break it or loosen it, it's not fun to reattach.

Great instructions! Thanks.
