Just couldn't stand it anymore could ya ? Well thats part of owning a vett, the pure passion. I think you'll find that a charger is superior than trying to charge off your alternator unless you drive 200miles. No matter what good guys drive white and I'm glad you had a special day.Well...
It made it to the 40's today so I decided to start my car up and let it run for a bit... hopped in... sat there for a few minutes and played with my armrest and turned the key... to a rapid click:ugh .
It appears I have let my battery discharge. So I have it hooked up to the charger at the moment. I guess I should have started it and ran it back in late January..
Tom
I'd check it at 6hrs to see how things are going. Whats the worst that can happen 2 amps isn't a lot ,but thats good.It was a special day !.. It only took me 1/2 an hour to take the battery out of the car.. I kept forgetting which socket fit the cables ! Optima 910 CA battery btw..
I have it set on a 2 amp charge.. any thoughts how long I should leave it ? The charger has an auto shut off but.. ?? I would guess it was a 90% discharge on the battery.. courtesy lights worked.. but I probably did some draining with my ignition.
Tom
You did it right, now ya need to pray for a couple days of rain and minor flooding .I started my rain dance last night ,no results yet.So the winter saga continues.. . The temp is in the mid 50's today !
I charged the battery overnight and left it out until about 45 minutes ago.
Installed the battery... didnt beat up my knuckles too badly:eyerole .. or throw out my back which is good....
Cranked it up..... and Vroom !!!
I let it idle for a bit.. backed down the rpm's.... moved it up and down the driveway and ran it for a good 25 minutes.
There is still no driving due to the evil and hazardous salt laden snowmelt.;help
Tom
Well I went out to the garage today to see how my ride was holding up and maybe take it out tommorow. Took the cover off and opened the door to darkness... Battery tender fell off over the winter. Hope it will charge it enough overnite to start tmmrw
