I met a person with a black vette like mine and that thing looked great. I thought mine looked good with 12K and nice coat of mequires. He has been using ZYMOL polish, I never really heard of the stuff. Looked it up online pretty pricey!!! Found couple little threads not much in forums. I think it was about 60bucks for a jar. Some of that stuff was 1200.00 a jar, thats just nutz. How long does it last? It says it comes in color match and feeds the paint, sounds kind of fishy. From what I saw I am interested in the cheap one just looking for info. Thanks

Back in 2002, Guru Reports tested 4 Zymol products. All rated a 'C'. The various prices of each were ($19.95, $50.00, $72.00, $180.00). All contained carnauba. None lasted past 6 weeks. If you look at the technology, this is typical for any product that contains carnauba.

To be fair, you do get a lifetime supply with the one that costs $1,650.00 and some have their own custom wooden container.

I've tried many waxes with carnauba over the years. Each one promising that your car will look good and be protected for many weeks later. The fact is. you're going to get immediate results with any product you use. Some gave out after two weeks and two car washings. I gave up on that technology and discovered synthetics 6 years ago. I haven't looked back.

If you are a logical person, do the research. You'll come up with the same conclusion.

The person you met with the shiney black Vette probably used the product on it very recently.

I read once that your paint isnt natural, why use a natural wax on it. It made sense to me, and I started using Meguires NXT tech wax, which is synthetic. My 94 never looked better, it just seemed to make it soooo black. It was like it just got painted, and gets a lot of compliments. I tried in on our 2005 blue G35 with the same results. It just makes the paint look so rich. And everything washes off so easy, stuff like bird crap wont even stick to it.

I have to make a comment on two things said because they can be misinterpreted. I have nothing against using NXT because it's your choice but the facts prove otherwise.

1. Even though NXT contains some synthetic properties, it is not a pure synthetic and hence fails in the area of durability. It does contain carnuaba and silicone.

2. No protection system will keep the acidic properties in bird droppings from etching your paint if left on long enough. The best defense is to remove the dropping as quick as possible.

I have too have used several products and NXT. I have learned using NXT, I had immediate shine, looked good, but a few days later it has an oily resdue type film on the body and it collected road dust pretty bad. After washing it two weeks later, it seems to have lost it shine. I do not recall, while I was using NXT if I had bird droppings or not. However, when I do get them I wipe them off quickly.

I have went back to using Zaino's. In my own opinion, and after using many types of products, for me, Zaino's has worked best. Shine, durability, and and very little to no collection of road dust. Also, as far a bird droppings, it seems to remove them without pitting on the clear coat much more easily than any other product I have ever used.

I'm not saying you can leave even bugs on the paint with this wax(nxt). With a black car and a hot day, it doesnt take long to damage the paint with something like that on it, even a passing shower.
Ill agree it does seem to attract dust, I thought it was just the black. Is Zaino a full synthic? As far as carnuba, there is a very small percentage in all wax's, like 5-10 percent? Pure carnuba is a small fortune, and I'm not even sure its obtainable.

I have a black vette. I do not have the problem with water spots after a rain as hot as it gets here in Houston in the summer. I think Zainos is pylomair (sp) based. Bugs, just wipe off. Rearly, do I ever have to use "bug and tar" remover. I mean very rear do I ever use it.

I would have to agree with the bug statement. After switching from NTX to Zaino a few months ago the bugs just rinse off the front. As far as the bird dookie goes, it wipes right off or just a light squirt with the hose and its gone.

Add: After driving up to BG for CF2006 I got some tar on the side of the car. After a few 4 letter words I started to remove the goop. I was very surprised when it wiped right off with a towel.

Zaino is a full synthetic and not a wax. No carnauba. No silicone.

Sal Zaino was a body and paint man for 30 years and knows paint technology. He continues to improve his products year after year.

Many of the car protection products on the market are formulated by 7 or 8 different companies and the public is buying from a middleman. Zaino is unique. Sal makes and sells his product and only his product.
