I have a 1996 Vette. I want to remove both front outside plastic lenses that cover my fog lamps , parking lights and directional lights. All bulbs are located behind this one lense. I know how to change out the bulbs but removing the lense has me stumped. Have reference manuals but can not seem to find out what the process would be.

In checking with our local Vette Center they indicated the front bumper may have to be dropped.

Does anyone have any experience?

The Bumper cover has to be removed to get to the housing....I know, it's not what you wanted to hear, but that's the way it is. ;shrug BTW I haven't actually done this, but I watched as they replaced the bumper cover after a guy backed into me, I see no other way to get to it, short of cutting it out.

Tom's right. The lenses have tabs that fit into the bumper cover, which has slots in it that the tabs fit into. If you decide to do this be careful when removing the cover as there will most likely be several shims at each of the attachment points. These are to align the bumper cover with the rest of the body panels.

The replies are 100% accurate. The cover HAS to come off. :upthumbs

If your bumper does not line up perfectly with your hood, now would be the time to align the panels. With the bumper lined up with the hood correctly, you would not believe the difference that makes in how the front end looks.

Thanks Guys I thought that would be the collective response. At least now I have confirmation on the process. I do appreciate the quick response and postings from everyone.

Hi Scott,,

I am registered with the RMCSC, however I am a new member with TORCA. Have spent a lot of time around the TORCA folks over the last 2 years. I do try and get over to the car gathering at Powers and Consitution when I can. Look forward to meeting you.
