I had a similar problem, is why I ask about the therostat. It also work fine in the hot water. I finally removed the thermstat and started the car. It restored the cirulation. The thermostat was bad, causing a restriction, I guess it was not opening all the way causing presure to build...

Could the therostat be stuck not letting it circulate?

I like Mid America, Corvette Central, and Ecklers. Good products they know their stuff. I tried Wilcox and was not impressed, others on the forum seem to do alright with them. I usually check with the three above for best price and shipping and order from that information.

I am upgrading to a TPI with it's computer, The Tranny is a T56 with VSS output.

I installed a T56 in my 1980 corvette over the weekend. Everything when together quickly. Now I start with the custom pieces I need to fab a new cross member, and work on a custom console. The rear differential is out and waiting to go to the shop for 3:73 gears. :D

I had my 80 down in about an hour. Pry bar it popped right out. :thumb

I have had better luck with new ones. I found out NAPA sell them for about 1/2 of the corvette places. The last ones from NAPA cost me about 70.00 no shipping and no hassel shipping a core. Just my experience.
