Did a couple of more updates: Got the shifter boot in red/black. It was pretty easy to do, the original boot is held in place by staples, they were pretty easy to remove. I did not staple the new boot in, I used double sided tape instead. The install is pretty straightfoward...

That is way too much, IMO. With mods, you get pennies back on the dollar and it seems like this dealership doesn't realize that. I'd be wary of the history. However, with the internet, it shouldn't be too hard to track down the previous owner or someone who knows something about this car...

I always thought that Buick makes a reliable car that unfortunately gets tagged as an uncool or old person car.

It's also the perfect time for a differential fluid change as well since the car is already up. Did mine at the same time.

I thought about this as I'm going to be getting either a C6 Z06 or a ZR-1 in a year. But the price for what you get doesn't seem to be worth it, IMO.
