Can anyone give me a starting point as to why my 96 LT1 automatic will not shift into high gear. I have changed both solonoids in the transmission. I have googled this problem. No one seems to have an answer. It will sometimes shift into high but most times not.
Important time and trouble saver. Always replace the throttle position sensor on 1996 LT1 with genuine AC Delco part. Other parts may not work properly and give check engine code. It took me 1 month and 3 TPS's to figure this out.
Might be the case with other aftermarket electronics too!

You need new hatch supports - Pep boys sells for $35.00 ea - make sure you get the ones with rear window defroster terminals. If you dont have a pep boys auto parts - most any auto parts can get them - save $ over Ecklers etc.
