After a tune up the other day, I shut the hood and the driver's side headling motor started buzzing. I unpluged it and started looking for shorts, but couldn't find any.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what was the solution?
Thanks,
Ken

It's probably a ground problem and very common on our Digital Dashes. If you are comfortable with taking it appart, a good cleaning of the connectors & grounds usually works.

I've worked with several people who have worked with Maaco in the past they would agree with earlier posts here. They use the same paints as everyone else, but their prep work is lacking.
I'm in the same boat here. Two owners ago painted my 84 a God awful purple over a medium metalic blue and...
I decided to buy a 2nd set of upper and lower A-Arms from an Ebay vendor. Bought all new bushings and ball joints from PST and pressed the new pieces on myself. Took the assembled parts to my mechanic and let him remove the old A-Arms and reassemble the new ones. I saved a bundle on the labor.

I agree with others have said. Almost certain its a ground/dirty connector issue.
After I had similar problems, I took mine apart, cleaned all the contacts replaced all the bulbs and it has worked like new since.
A lot cheaper than sending it out.

84??
I've already been down this road.
Bought an 84 that had a carbureted motor.
Spent lots of dollars on books, and ebay parts and time on CAC to return this to a stock condition.
Yes I had a lot more power with the carburetor & edlebrock intake, but it wouldn't pass inspection. My friends...
Tach Filter
Mine was bolded to the intake, on the drivers side.
One of the leads broke off the filter and I removed the filter entirely. Like the others said, the tach still works but I found that acts flakey from time to time.
Found a replacement on Ebay for less than $20.00

< Isn't that part of owning a Corvette?>
No, I don't think so.
I try to get by as cheaply as possible. Sometimes my finances require that I buy non GM.
You make it sound like if you own a vette your obligated to buy all GM parts reqardless of price...
I can't understand
<I can't understand someone actually jusitifying driving their Vette in the snow.>
Being in San Deigo, I guess you wouldn't. Get much snow there?

Lowering your vette
David,
I live in the Charlotte Area and own an 84 coupe.
Why lower the car?? Not low enough already?
I've not done lowering, but just about everything else.
If you can't find anyone else to help, let me know.

Ken
