    Z06 BRAKE ROTORS

We had a session with a Corvette Z06 engineer one day and he said all their research pointed to no performance benefits for getting drilled or slotted rotors. They put them on the C6 for aesthetics only.

    (Pictures) It's been awhile...

This is my favorite photo of our '87. and another in front of Mount Saint Helens and the last and hardest to engineer. You have no idea how hard it is to back onto a lift straight!

    It's that time again...

Not counting mine I have to say my absolute favorite is the Steel Blue TT ZR-1 that was up for sale a while ago. :beer

Question: What is the most erroneous claim you have ever heard about your car??

I was at a car show once where there was a ZR-1 with a Callaway Aerobody. Someone was asking me questions on my '87 and pointed to the ZR-1 and said "There's a REAL Callaway". :eyerole I just love it when others know more about my car than I do.

What tires are you running and why?

I run Wide Ovals for everyday driving and road trips. I swith to GY SCs for autocross and track events. The Wide Ovals are much better in rain (and rare snow) and are quieter but definitely don't stick as well as the SCs. I wouldn't hesitate to buy Wide Ovals again but if you truly want to...

Callaway Cars in XBOX video game

It's possible they will use audio recordings done for PGR3. I got an email a few months ago saying my car was used in Forza 2 also so they sent me a free game for that. The game showed up with a written thank-you. I also got written documentation from the sound company thanking me for letting...

Couple of Q's from a new B2K owner

Wow...another '87 convertible over here. :beer Fantastic. I couldn't make XXX this year. We were on our way to W Yellowstone for Wild West Vette Fest. The oil filler cap should be on the driver's side. I keep a long necked funnel tucked in under the hood by the windshield fluid reservoir. You...

    Twin Turbo Alternator

I'm no electrical engineer but I know what happened to me. Halfway home one night I had almost all my dash lights come on and then started fuzzing in and out. The car barely would idle so I kept it going with the gas peda. I pulled into my garage and turned the engine off. I immediately tried to...

    Twin Turbo Alternator

It's just a standard C4 alternator. It may be that the battery is bad and/or the alternator. The alternator is pretty wimpy and when it goes out it can cause the battery to deplete itself over time if not caught quick enough. By the same token, if the battery went bad first, it causes the...

    Moving the Callaway Forum

Look at the way you did the Z06. You gave the C6 Z06 its own forum. The C5 and C6 Z06 have much more in common than the C4 TT and other Callaway offerings. I think the C4 TT should be its own forum and perhaps have another forum elsewhere for all other flavors.

    solo scca motorcross with zo6

But this is what I'm getting at. The diamonds I refer to are the pointers on the sides of high performance tires that show where optimal tire scrubbing should be occuring. When I set my tires at 30" I can see the wear pattern--scrub line--is coming right to that diamond. If I were rolling over...

    solo scca motorcross with zo6

Just curious. Why do you increase to 40#? I've done a fair amount of autocrossing and found that 30# of pressure gets my scrub line right to the top of the diamonds on the tire. It seems to me 40# would give you less traction.
