I got a gas strut hood prop to replace the scissor type and I do not understand how to bolt in the lower part. The part that connects to the hood is simple enough but how do I connect the lower part?
Pictures would be great!
Thanks!!!
http://powermastermotorsports.com now offers a dual internal fan alternator for the C4 Corvette. I did an inquiry for my 1985 L98 model and this is the response I got:
"We do have one for that. It is a part # 18207 for the chrome and 8207 for the natural finish. You will need harness adapter #...
camber brace, coil overs, new bushing, etc.....

also the cross bar if you do not want to get a roll cage out back nad a set of c4 beam plates.
Im assuming you can swap these blocks in the C4....when did gm start the reverse cooling stuff? The LT1 intake is reverse cooling too right?
Hows that gonna work out?
I have a set of those on my '85...great piece and I installed them when I had my exhaust off. I think it took about 45 minutes to install including cleaning the surface of years of grease and stuff.
My car tracks perfectly straight on WOT runs. I think there is a group purchase on the...
Yeah, the L98 exhaust manifolds are less than 1.5" wide...pretty small IMHO.
I belivey they used a standard one wire o2 sensor. Funny thing is that the magazine said installing the headers was pretty involved. I've only installed my hookers and they are pretty easy to install.
*Edit* I...
I found the 05/99 issue of Corvette Fever with the '85 "Code Red" project car and thought i'de post some RWHP & RWTQ numbers so those of you who are intrested in doing performance upgrades can see what will do what.
'85 L98 with the 4+3 transmission put out 197.8 rwhp @ 4100 rpms and 288 rwtq...
Well, if your TPI is stock then you are hitting max hp around 4200 rpms with major fall off after 4800 rpms or so. With the natural torque of a V8 im sure it still feels good to past 5K.
I remember my first street race...against a mustang gt after I got a hypertech chip and a set of flowmaster...
well lpe rec. that all s/r motors from 350 ci and up with the s/r intake use the 58 mm throttle body. I belive this is so because of the large plenum volume. The s/r plenum is about 2x a big as the tpi plenum.
I did not know the '87 came with 245 hp....my bad!
The maf sensor is not that big of...
I do not think there is a way to check if the transmission is slipping or such like there is a way to check if the compression on a engine is fine.
Like I said earlier it sounds mechanical. I'de try to lean out the afr to around 14:1 and see what happens.
Good luck.
I do not think those bolt on parts will gain ~70hp at the flywheel. TPI cars run great in the 1/4 due to the low end torque and narrow power band.
In all honesty you do not need a cam to get 300 flywheel hp but the stock TPI has to go. You will need at least a set of high flow TPI runners...
Maybe your transmission is slipping and you are loosing h/p there. How does the tranny feel? Maybe that time you got on it you broke something????
Just a thought because it sounds like a mechanical issue somewhere.
