That may work!!! My only concern is if the compressor tool is long enough. Also, is the upper shock mount strong enough to handle that load? I noticed both the upper and lower spring mounts have locating wells for the end of the spring. Which is more important to have lined up?? Upper of lower...
Ok, Who has a trick for installing front springs on a bare frame???? I have a center bolt spring compressor and it seems like I will have to reduce the spring from 17'' down to 10'' to get it in and bolt in the spindle. I have done this with the car assembled and used the weight of the car to...
Does anyone have a picture of their front spindles? I understand there should be some orange paint on them, some say like they were dipped at the bottom..
I am thinking of using engine orange paint. What would be most correct?? Thanks, Kurt
In original state, how would the casting dates fall on blocks, and heads? Is there a typical order of which falls first. Also, how much time falls between the dates? 67 L-79. Thanks, Kurt
I am getting ready to bolt the rear suspension on my freshly blasted/painted frame. I am trying to stay correct with component colors. The rear spring is to be gray semi-gloss. The strut bars are forged black to gray or blue-gray. I am stumped with the strut bars??? What is the best color to...

I see many of the parts suppliers offer a kit to replace the lower section on the core support. Mine has some rust and wondered how GOOD these repair sections were?? Anyone use one?? Thanks, Kurt
I have pulled my 67 coupe body and can not see any VIN stamp on the rear left kickup?? I have a 65 frame that has the stamp in 2 places and you can see the frame dented at the stamp. My 67 and 79 both have no signs of a stamping in this area. Could it just be too rusted to see, and should I see...

WOW... Thanks for the info. This is what I needed. Mine Says LC and has the 6000 redline (5500 Yellow line). The car is an L-79 car. That matches.. I can sleep better tonight... Thank you... Kurt
I know this may be a long shot.. I need one leather seat assy for a 67. One is bad, the other like new. I would rather find a used set than buy new covers. There has to be some take-offs out there somewhere...Thanks, Kurt
