Does anyone have a list of Hypertech part #'s for programmers that will work with a 96 LT4 Corvette? They only show 30027 on their website but there are other models that I think will work but not sure exactly which ones.

Anybody near Atlanta got a Hypertech or other programmer? I need to lower my fan on/off temps. I have read that the performance program doesn't help the LT4 that much. Anyway, I would like to try it before I buy one. I am in Dacula on the NE side of Atlanta.

Thanks for the replies! In talking to my friend Ben who is also the streetrod rep for Carrera, his specialty is making streetrods with various weights and chassis components, ride and handle. Their shocks do not just come in one flavor. He can vary the dampening and spring rates to match the...
Thanks Tim,
Hope to meet you at a local thing or something. Might let you drive it with me in the navigator chair!! Other than my 87 Vette, most of my experience is with streetrods which also have cooling problems. They are usually fixed by overkill on the components. I am building a 53...
TLong,
Thanks for your advice. I have owned the 96 for a couple of months, long time 87 owner. The previous owner had just replaced the radiator, hoses, etc., a month or so before I purchased the car. I do not know about the thermostat. I have already made plans to replace it. I just...
Thanks for the tips. I may have some issue. Today when I got off the freeway on a surface road it got hot, so I stopped and opened the hood and the fans were not running. I turned on the AC and the fans came on and the temps went back to normal very fast. Could I have a bad fan temp sender...
I have a 96 LT4. My temp gauge is normal most of the time. I have had a couple of occasions lately where, in traffic, the gauge will read very high, so high that you would think you would be loosing coolant. I have checked the coolant level after it cools down and it is full. During the time...
I bought a high mileage 96 and gave it the once over and discovered I needed pads. The rotors were still good and did not have any pulsation issues. I used NAPA Ceramix. I am very pleased with the results. It takes a lot less foot pressure now to stop the car. I plan to add the braided...
I replaced my rear bushings yesterday with an Energy suspension kit. What I discoved was, the large bar bushings were already polyurethane (96 Z51), but the end links were rubber. There are 4 total on the rear. Some of them I could just pry out with a screwdriver. Others, I used a socket and...
Hello, these guys are probably right about relays. I just wanted to share my experience. I started getting weird codes and having similar problems on my 87. What I found was that the battery connectors had corrosion that you could not see until you disconnected them. I cleaned them and...
Sorry to hear about the freeze plug. My wife has a 97 Jeep that had a freeze plug corrode when it was only 3 years old. It is due appparantly to electrolysis. One of hers was not accessable so we used one of the freeze plug replacements that you put in the hole and then tighten the bolt and...
So far no problems, ran em several hours yesterday in the rainy weather. I think going from 35 to 50 is not that big of current draw/heat generation increase. I did not even change the fuse to a larger value. And the SilverStar headlights are great.
