Thanks
Thanks a lot :). Your advice was right on! I found out the white wire had broke off at the connector that goes to the steering column.

Could someone please give me some advice on how to locate my brake light problem.
- Both taillights work.
- Both turn signals work.
- The brake fuse is good.
- The brake pedal switch appears to be good. I placed a jump wire across the orange and white wires that go to the brake light switch...
Thanks. I don't have to worry about the old mounting holes. I'm lucky there: the 65 emblem was just secured with silicon (no holes). Is it true that the 66 emblem is only 2 1/2 " wide? I just want to make sure I have the correct emblem, before I permanently install it. What would be the...
Hi,
I recently bought a new glove box emblem for my 66. It previously had a 65 emblem. I was surprised that the 66 emblem is only 2 1/2" wide (almost half the size of the 65 emblem). Is that correct?
If it is correct, could you please let me know the measurements for the placement of the...
I used solder and it is working fine now. Thanks alot :w
Interesting, I noticed that it 'flings" it back quite a bit farther than before. Must be because it is getting a better jolt on the contact now.
I don't know about the rest of you, but there's something about a working clock that makes...
I'm not sure what it was :confused (a shim?) They had it for about a week. They did tell me what they made, but it was greek to me. Went in one ear and out the other. I was just happy to get it out and on the road again. :Steer
She's back on the road and shifting great. I am very pleased. Cost me a few bucks more (they had to make a part). But at least I saved the tow bill :D
Ps: love that flogging of the dead horse :boogie
A few years ago John McGraw posted a real useful post on cleaning the contacts inside the clock. I cleaned them off and the clock worked great for years. Now those contacts are finally worn down.
I wonder if I just put a dab of solder on each contact if that would work (I suspect not). Or...
I agree, but usually they are very good. I was very pleased with the new clutch. They still have it, so we'll see what happens when I get it back. My fingers are crossed.
Thanks a lot for your help. Here's what I did: I dismantled the shifter as described by Tom. I found a pin with a clip on it. I removed that pin and repositioned the shifter to get it out of reverse. The "T" handle, previously known as “the pull up thing” ;LOLdropped back into position. I then...
I got underneath amd took a look. I don’t know anything about how this works, but I found 3 levers on the transmission. I was able to move all of them freely. The “pull up thing” on the shifter stays in the up position. Thus I can only shift between reverse and neutral. Should I put the levers...
Yes, I'll take a look. I forgot to add that it shifts easily from reverse to neutral, it just will not shift into other gears because the reverse "pull up thing" stays pulled up.
Hi,
;helpI just had a new clutch installed. It is now stuck in reverse. It did work when I first brought it home a couple days ago. It has the original shifter, transmission etc. The shifter “reverse pull up” stays in the up position. Any suggestion on how I can pop it out of reverse?
I'm referring to a bit of a recess in the door molding -a circle about the size of the base of the door winder handle. It is where the metal piece with the 3 prongs fits into before the door handle goes on.
Mine is manual window.
I bought a set of Al Knoch door panels and am surprise that the hole for the window winder is not cut out. Is this normal? Also, there is no indent there. Is that normal?
:wThanks Fred. I did end up buying one when I was in Florida. I just bought it from a local glass shop. I was surprised they had it in stock. But the price was right ($218). It's tinted and looks great. For folks who don't need a numbered windshield, it's a good way to keep a few extra shekels...
I am removing my door panel and am having trouble removing the door lock knob. Does it remove the same as the window winders, which I used the tool on to release the clip? If there is a clip, it is really difficult to slide the tool in to get at it. :confused
