    1966 convertible for sale

This car is a very nice driver and was bought by myself to drive and enjoy. I'll try and be exhaustive here as I don't want any surprises. Asking $32,000 (firm). Post here if you need additional car details. I'm not looking to trade for anything. I'm just wanting to get into some other...

Rear Leaf Spring Torque and Bolt Size

Due to an earlier "mishap" this past December (http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=77645) I went out to the garage today to rough adjust the camber on my left rear side. That side had almost all positive camber apparently due to the jarring effect of my off road...

    Caster-Camber guage

Anyone try this inexpensive caster/camber gauge? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/xq/aspx/display_id.2699/qx/Product.htm I believe I have negative caster on my front end as high speed stability (60 and up) is bad (likes to wander). Doug

    Points question

Driving my car this weekend it suddenly lost power and died at about 55 mph. Looked at it and was getting no spark. Troubleshooting found that when putting a meter to the side of the coil where the points connect to, a constant 9-12 volts was found when cranking the engine over, indicating an...

Distributor shaft and tach drive gear recommendation?

My tach drive gear and shaft are stripped and it's time for a rebuild. Noticed that Mid America has this combination (along with new bronze coupling) for $89. http://www.madvet.com/shop?frame=1.1169 Seems like a reasonable price. Anyone have good/bad experience with this particular part...

    Can you say oops?

While enjoying the 70+ deg weather Saturday, I decided to "use" my torque after leaving one farm road for another. I had a little too much fun apparently, as the car skidded badly, spun completely around and went off the road going about 40mph into freshly mowed straw. I've done this...

    1961 Corvette in Summit Catalog

Did anyone get their summit catalog yet? There is a really nice 1961 Corvette in the centerfold, albeit "slightly" modified. :D My favorite part is this comment that goes with his interior photo: "I didn't want to cut up the dash because I was trying to keep the car as original as...

    C2 - Deck lid alignment

Not sure what you "officially" call the thing that hinges up and down to cover the convertible top when down. One of the back corners sits a little too high, not allowing the weatherstrip to seal properly. What adjustment can be made to lower one side down properly? Thanks, Doug

Heater feels like it is running when moving.

    - When I'm stopped, I feel no airflow. - When I am moving, I feel strong (HOT) airflow through the heater vent between the speaker and window, almost as if the heater blower motor were on high (with the knob on the right side of the clock pulled out). I've verified the heater blower motor is...

    C2 - &#$! parking brakes

Just finished rebuilding my parking brakes. Those #$%#!& engineers should be ashamed, the $#%^. What a piece of %$&#@ design. Ah, I feel so much better. ;LOL Thanks for listening. Doug

C2 - Why does speaker grill not sit flush?

Just curious as to why the speaker grill wasn't designed to sit flush with the fiberglass dash? Was it intentional (if so why) or just a bad design? Searched and didn't find an answer already. Doug

    C2 - Driveshaft seems wimpy

Pulled my driveshaft tonight to replace the rear muncie seal (I know, should have done it when the engine and transmission were out) and the driveshaft is very small in diameter, almost like my Miata's driveshaft. Guess I was expecting something similar to my 68 Camaro's driveshaft. I'm...

C2- Size of muncie shift alignment tool?

I lost my alignment tool (ie: misplaced it in the mess I call a garage). I remember a post by JohnZ about the exact size (think it was on the other forum. don't have search capability there). Searched here and didn't find the info. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Doug

I gotta share my Corvette joy.....

My adrenaline is still running high, so I gotta share my day with my fellow Corvette Enthusiasts: I've had my car 1 year and 1 month now and in that time I've managed to do a complete interior restoration and front end and drivetrain rebuild/replacement. I have newly found admiration for those...

Looking for tach drive distributor rebuild guide

Anyone have a good adobe pdf guide documenting the rebuild of a C2 tach drive distributor? I have lots of threads from this forum detailing the various parts, but a comprehensive guide would be nice. Thanks. Doug

C2 - How to remove brake caliper piston?

Can anyone tell me how the pistons come out of the rear calipers? It looks like they are held in by the outer seal alone. If so, how does one remove the seal? Pry? I want to examine the sleeve to see if a hone will do the job or it is pitted too bad and I need to replace. Thanks, Doug

    PCV valve question

I understand the purpose and function of having a pcv valve, but was wondering if I would be ok to run just standard breathers on each valve cover? The only disadvantage I see is the loss of recirculation to aid in emissions. Is this correct? Doug

    Determining Pushrod Length

I'm trying to measure pushrod length for my engine using an adjustable pushrod. I didn't get any instructions with the adjustable pushrod, but followed what I found here: http://carcraft.com/techarticles/116_0401_push/index.html I could see the changes made to the mark on top of the valve...
