What happened to Corvette Mechanic ? I came here because I could't get C/M.
Thank you for the information.
Is C/M coming back or what? Should I use Anti Sieze on the threads. Or Mobil1 or nothing at all ?
Again thanks,
The Big Guy !
99 Coupe 6mm 123,000 miles all stock. I require the latest # so that I can replace AC # 41 - 985 with 60,000 miles on them.
Secondly, yes or no to Anti Seze or Mobil 1 on the threads ?
DO NOt, I repeat, DO NOT take your Corvette to a stealership for an oil change. It is an easy fun job. First of all be in the proper frme of mind and tackle the job. The self satisfaction is worth the time and effort for the job. Buy beer with the $ you save !
Part is under $ 10.00. It is located in the lower front passenger side near the radiator. It snaps into place. Unclip the wire, R & R the sensor. It is an easy inexpensive fix. Good Luck !
Hopefully it is not the heater core. I had the same problem when my 99 was brand new. It turned out to be an " O " ring that was not properly seated on one of the heater core pipes. It took the job of pulling the intake manifold and replacing the " O " ring. It turned out to be a rather small...
99 6mm RED Coupe Ordered and purchased new. Traded the G.Y. Run Craps in at 39,000 miles for Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Z/P. Now have 81,000 miles and they look very good as far as tread depth. They have proven to me that they are decidedly a much better overall tire than the Run Craps. Further...
I too replaced the same part. The part # is 12455426 ( LH ). You do not have to dismantle the seat as the Service Manual states. It is close work but can be accomplished with the seat in the car. The cost was about $ 7.00 from the dealer. Good luck !
The 99 model year was selected by the S.A.E. as the best engineered car,( tied with Mercedes SL ) for the top honors. My 99, 6 speed coupe, purchased new, now has 66,000 fantastic miles. I had numerous small items go wrong, but on the whole it has been the best of the 5,a 64,85,92 and 99 that I...
I believe that I remember seeing a post in the recent past about a person out in the east who was repairing these mirrors for a reasonable fee. That is as far as I can be of assistance to you. Good Luck !
Why buy a used vehicle if you can purchase a brand new one for practically the same $ ? Believe me there is nothing like a " brand new " ride. You break it in to your liking with the knowledge that no one else has driven it, or abused it or just did not treat it like you would. Not to mention...
