Are you referring to this vent ? If so then if memory serves me correctly there is a small screw on either end that has to be removed.

Spark plugs have come a long way from the 60's. The plugs in your car are rated to last 100k miles. Would I wait until 100k to change them? Probably not but I got 60k on my clock with the original plugs still it in and it still running strong.
If you are going to attempt to do ANY KIND of DIY on our Vette or for that matter, try and trouble shoot any kind of problem, then there is no such thing as "thinking about it."
IT'S AN ABSOLUTE MUST HAVE !

I was under the impression that the plug was a Iridium 41-110 but I came across this Bulletin, Subject: ACDelco Spark Plugs 41-110 and 41-962 - Application Update...
I highly doubt it would have "come off"! The Steering rack is inches away from the balancer. When they loosen up or debond they move one of two way..towards the engine and mess up the timing cover or towards the steering rack and rub against that.
Oh and BTW: C5's have the same ongoing...
I replaced my stock size wheels and tires on my 04 with 04 Z06 size and i don't see a problem with the speedometer, just sayin!
Hated the run flats so I'm running General EXCLAIM UHP's and they are great. Too bad they discontinued the line.

Hmmmm, That's strange. I too have an 04 w/factory Bose and I have no problems playing burned CD's. Doesn't matter if I burnt them or someone else did.
They all work fine !
