Very similar indeed. Mine does have what I believe to be the original engine (previous owner gave me a sheet of paper with all the engine numbers - he had the block decked when rebuilt in 1984 :ugh - all remaining markings are correct) My first priority is to to get everything fairly correct and...
Well it looks like there's hope yet. My Corvette was built in February 1970. When I purchased it back in '03 it had a completely incorrect fan, no fan clutch, along with a cut up fan shroud. I have the radiator and core support out now, and am giving that area of the car a thorough going-over. I...
I should add... after cleaning a few of the parts with the denatured alcohol, they looked so great I didn't even have to redye them. 30 years worth of armorall and grime came off on the rag in a dark sludge.
So far the parts of my interior I did with the spray dye are holding up fine. Some pieces were done about two years ago. I prepped everything by cleaning with denatured alcohol first.
I think that the '69s are the more desirable year (bet this has something to do with the 427s offered ;) - it trickles down even to the base engines). However, due to a strike that year, there many more '69 vettes than 1970's. I'm sure someone here knows more about this than I, but I think that...
Another thing I'm worried about is the rubber diaphragm inside of the actuator that is not removable. I wonder if I could just seal up the unit before dipping it, or do it half at a time?
Thanks for the info Richard. Thinking long term, there's about $600 of parts I can save on my car with this system if it works well (3 actuators, 3 relays, MC cover, etc.). I think it'll be worth the money as long as it does the job.
Instead of purchasing the paint kit from Eastwood, I was looking to replate all of my headlight actuators, relays, and master cylinder cap using this product:

CopyCad & Zinc Kit plus Yellow Chromate solution (approx $180)
Anyone have experience doing...
Funny. That car would've been immediately sealed up in climate-controlled collection if it was "discovered" in 2005 and not 1977. At least the owner got to enjoy it back then.

Welcome Nate! I've done the front area of my car and it wasn't bad at all. I've yet to install my rear carpet, but I know plenty of people here will chime in with some valuable advice, and possibly upholstery costs. Best of luck!

Scott,
I'm also hunting for tires. A great deal of information on your options is available in this thread:

Best of luck in your search!
