Question: 81 automatic getting ready to have a neutral safety switch issue

Sometimes I have to wiggle the shifter to get Scarlett to start. Not real crazy about that. My wonderful shop manual gives no clue where it is or how to replace it even though it is named under the starter circuit problems. CLEVER! Can it be done from underneath while on a rack or is that too much to hope for? The stinking manual doesn't even show which side it's on. Have assembly manual also & still arrive @ DUH!

I believe the neutral safety switch is located under the console...
towards the back of the shiter according to the asm...
It probably just needs an adjustment..
 
Neutral safty switch and reverse light switch are attached to the same bracket under the console. Best bet is to remove the seats and then the side console covers. Both switches are fully adjustable
