"84 Under the Wrench

Hi, all! I inherited an "84 in near basket case condition. So far it has a complete new brake system and a rebuilt trans. It's at a local shop getting a rebuilt crate (355) and other mods. We're keeping the CFI and going after the Renegade. Car has some sentimental value so it's a keeper regardless of cost and resulting depreciation. I'll be hanging around the CFI mine. Oh yeah one other thing - I like keeping the CFI, I think it's cool, in spite of the majority of feedback to dump it.

Cartrax- I'd keep the CFI based upon what you've said.

"Peer pressure" causes a lot of people to do things they shouldn't do or to do things that make no sense for their situation.

You like your Vette's CFI- and that is all that counts.

Really? It's doing-your-own-thing and the challenge to make it work and run hot in spite of what everyone's saying. Plus I like the tune "Crossfire Injection" it sounds cool when you say it. It will be fun.

Welcome! BTW, there's a shop in Highland Park that has been hotrodding CFI since 1983. They know how to mod them right. Unfortunately, I can't remember the name, but they used to be on Skokie Hiway.
