My 93 40th anav.coupe has a compressor cluch that wont engage. The dash controls are also blinking.Tryed to reset ecm by disconnecting battery,no good.Tryed to find codes in the dash control but when you push the up&down arrows on the fan control, nothing happens. Also where is the compressor control relay located? X-ray scaner shows code 28.This is a quad 3 driver modual.Would I have to replace the ECM for this problem. Help, anyone; Bob S

#31 is what your looking for. I wouldn't be too quick to replace an ECM. There are several ways on my '89 to check for a good or bad A/C comp clutch. I'm sure someone with a '93 will jump in here and tell ya how. My two cents says it's the A/C Controller Mod....

My electronic A/C control flashed, blinked went out, came on all kind of crazy stuff. I took it all apart and cleaned all the connectors inside and it has worked perfect for several weeks now.

Good luck. :)

AC problems

Bob did you get this resolved. I can not believe it but I have a 93 and just today 3/19/04 I am having exactly yes exactly same problem. Blinking and all. I have checked just about everything including the charge.

Please let me know if you have an answer.

Regards,

Wayne S.

The most common cause would be a low charge. When low the high pressure switch interrupts the compressor circuit to prevent damage to the compressor.

Hope this helps,

Hi Wayne; This problem can be a pain in the butt.My problem turned out to be a low charge. The blinking lights are a trouble code.If you press the up and down fan controls at the same time untill a double00 comes up you can access the trouble codes by pressing the fan switch.Go to tech knowledge base and in serch type in a/c control circuit diagnosis and see 1990 service bullentin.you can print out the codes. Also circuite diagrams. I hope this helps some. Bob S
