I have a 2001 Z06 that after about 20 minutes of driving in Normal mode city or freeway, my Display lights up Service Active Handling System and my Traction control, light comes on with a off showing. My local dealer said the problem was the battery, I replaced it, same problem. The digital disply shows charging between, 13.1 and 13.7 volts. Any one else had a similar problem? I'm afraid to take it to a dealer without being armed with my own cure, as it appears they do not have a clue. Will it hurt the system to drive? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Regards Ted

It sounds like you need the help of C4C5Specialist. Hopefully he will check in soon and assist you. Good luck!

Thank you but I do not have access (I do not think) to read the codes. I'm taking it to the dealer on Weds this week and will ask him to read that code. Is there anything else I should look for? What could be the problem? I'm out of warranty and hate to spend money on things that do not fix the problem. The car sat for seven months while I was overseas, could the inactivity trigger anything. Thats why the replacing the battery sounded logical.
Regardless thanks for your help! Ted

Hi there,
To extract codes from the DIC, please do the following, so that we may assist you further.
First, start the car, then using the reset button, clear all messages so that you have your display blank, or on the odometer.
Then, push and hold the #4 button, while pushing the #1 button 4 times. This will put you into diagnostic mode.
Just remember, these codes will come very fast, so have a pen ready. The first 2 modules are the most important.
10-PCM
28-TCS
Those are the first 2, so please post up these codes, and we can proceed.

C4C5 SPECIALIST, Thank you for your prompt reply. The 10-PCM read's no code, 28-TCS C1296H then one code. I assume shutting the engine off everything went off again is that how you reset?
Thanks Ted

Hi there,
Well, not so good news, I am afraid.
The 1296 shows an intermittant failure of the brake pressure sensor.
This sensor, which is shown in the attached diagram, as #2 has a pigtail coming out of it.
I am curious, if it has been disconnected??????
Anyway, you can attempt to replace it if you wish, however, it is not easy to get to. You will have to remove the upper radiator hose to access the EBTCM, which is essentially your controller for your antilock braking system.
Its up to you, however, I would suggest that you have it professionally diagnosed.

Many Thanks, I did check, and the connector is on, I'm not sure it's getting power but I'm taking it to Chapman Chev, in Tempe, they are suppose to have a good Corvette Tech. I cannot thank you enough for your help I'll update you on them fixing it. Any idea ballpark what parts and labor should be? Is there a publication us rookies can get to understand what the codes mean. I started in 1968 when I returned from VietNam, with a 1963 Corvette, having owned four more plus restoring a 1962 and a 1967. These new systems throw me for a loop! If you know of a better place in the Phoenix area please let me know.
Regards Ted

Hi there,
I know of noone out in AZ, I am sorry for that.
Cost, I do not know either.
I am sure, armed with that which you know, you will do fine.
I would suggest purchasing the factory service manuals, from www.helminc.com

C4C5, I pushed the plug in last night to be sure it was in place(it seemed to be), today driving in stop and go, shutoff for Xmas shoping, plus some freeway driving, the Service Active handling nor the Traction off light came on. I did again check the codes, and location 28TSC still has the same code in it althogh none of the Service lights were on. Is there a reset or as you said a intermittent problem?
I'm taking it in the morning but do you think the connector was not on all the way If it is indeed fixed why is there still a code in the location? Starting to think the car is possesed. Regards Ted

HI there,
It will take 100 ignition cycles to have the code self clear the system.
If you like, run diagnostics, like before, and then when you see manual diagnostics, push 4, to move to 28-TCS 1 code.
Then, when it states this, push and hold the reset button, and that will show NO CODES.
Then push #5 to stop diagnostics.
Honestly, I dont know if you set the connector or not, did you hear a click??????
Anyway, if there wasnt a reoccurance, I might say just hold off, until you find this reoccuring.

C4C5 I'm on my second day and the code 28 reset to no code, no lights or service active handling. I did not hear the connector click when I pushed on it, however it works!
Thank you for all your help.
Regards Ted
