Question: Big power in little places. Will a blower fit under a stock hood?

Howdy, I'm new to this forum and Corvettes in general. I come from owning a Chevelle in which space isn't at as much a premium. So, the question: I'm looking at putting together a 454 smallblock with the aim of getting into the 10s. I'd like to strap on a Procharger unit and get there. Will it fit under a stock hood (1989 Corvette) or am I looking at problems? If I won't have enough space to run a stock hood, should I be looking at turbocharging? I'm not averse to using Nitrous to get there, but I'd rather stay off the stuff as much as I can . Thanks!

They're direct plug-ins for smallblocks.

Thanks for the quick replies and information. If I stepped it down to a 350 or 383, would a TPIs miniram or similiar flow enough to get me the power I needed?

probably not...its just a better breathing manifold that gives some torque yet retains the high rpm spin.

Procharger would look fine under there. Just be prepared...lots of custom weldinmg on alum ductwork (plastic will NOT stay together) and lots of bracketts to be made/modified. Intercooler is required and that too has miles of piping....but, it'll all fit.I know of a guy in SoCal thats got one as a DD... He DID have to make hood mods for intakes, ducts, coolers.

If you're prepared to go back "in" with inj twice as big, and get the final tune, you can keep a near stock appearance while generating 500+BHP.
