Bowtie Overdrive 2004R

The 700R4 is turning out to be a good transmission. The only problem with the 3:08 is with 4th gear at sppeds below about 60 - 65 mph. The engine rpm's are too low.

Someday I'll change the 3:08's out but for now I just keep it in 3rd and shift to 4th when I'm at higher speeds.

Thanks Bob and Evo. I think I'm going to go with the 2004R.

I'll be picking up the new engine this week in Charlotte, NC from the builder. So I'll ask the questions about the TC.

I hope to have all of the big stuff (engine, tranny, new radiator, headers, and front end bushing set) by the end of the month so I can get started.

Thanks a bunch guys. Hope to have the project done by spring (Mayish)

Make sure you post the project for future generations.

You bet, and I'll mot likely be tapping you guys on the shoulder for advice.

This should be an interesting project since Todd will be a co-worker on the project. He is looking at coming down to the OBX in March to help with the install....that is if everything does according to plan. Of course I've already been labeled crazy for doing this to a '78 Pace Car replica. But.....I look at it this way, it gives me the chance to drive the car without worrying about the original engine.

I've got pics of the engine but they are in adobe and are way to big to load up here. I'll work on them.

Thanks
