I have spent a couple of hours trying to remove the ignition switch from my 61 dash with no luck. I have read a thread about how to do it by John McGraw and Larry (IH2LOSE) but I have a few questions.

When you insert the paper clip in the lock should you feel any spring tension or something releasing? Which direction should I be turning the switch with the paper clip in, and should it unthread or should it just pop out? Thanks for any help.

Gary you have to have an ignition key or the lock picked then insert the paper clip and as your turning it you will find the hole that it slips into then continue to turn as your pulling it out,Sounds complecated but it just twists out once you find the sweet spot, then to remove the entire switch you just unsrew the bezel and slide the switch out the rear.
