Help! C6 Battery Replacement

Gas fumes indeed.

Yea, I noticed our Wallyworld had "Battery Tenders" on the shelf. Didn't look at the price as it was probably less than what I paid for mine (story of my life ;LOL). As for your other problem, let me guess you can smell gas fumes?

Is that a common problem? I noticed that when she is at 1/2 tank, the fumes go away, it is only when she is filled up. I was goning to have her checked for leaks and the breather lines for the gas tank, I thought maybe they were damaged or plugged. What is your observation on that?:confused
I don't see any puddles on the garage floor, Thank God!

My knowledge is with C5's. And what I know you could put in a thimble. :D I believe that late C5's have a known issue with the "equalizer line" (I think that is what it is called) seeping. There are two tanks on a C5 and there is a line that runs between the two. Now my 01 is not supposed to have the issue, but, if I put the car away immediately after filling it up I get fumes in the garage. If I drive it 10 miles before putting it up I don't have the problem. Now remember, mine is a C5 and C6s might be different. I've just learned to drive it a few miles before I put it up.

Be very careful not to over fill the fuel tanks when refueling. Do NOT add any more fuel after the nozzle clicks off. If you overfill the tanks you can damage the evaporative emissions system, and that can be very costly. Good luck with it. :)

GAS Fumes - Overfilled?

Thanks for the hint. I will let the gas pump clicker do its magic and retrieve. If I still get the fumes, I will start a new thread and see if anyone with a C6 knows more about it.

Thanks LLC5.
