C6 Coupe roof pricing makes no sense...

See if I have this right. C6 Coupe with body color roof panel is standard (thus, free of any extra charges). This is option CF7.
The transparent roof (option CC3) is $750. But here you forego the body color roof.
Finally is the dual roof option (option C2L) for $1400. Here you buy back the color roof, which was originally free, for $650.
Bottom line, you end up paying $1400 for the transparent roof panel if you order the dual package.
Am I missing something? And what will the transparent panel cost as an accessory at a later date?

same pricing schemes as they had for C5;s - so, what makes you think C6 should be any different!?

I would suggest a solid roof..then as time goes on..just buy a glass roof from the aftermarket or preowned for around $500. And if you like the glass roof better? sell the solid one for $400.

This pricing sounds like it's in the ballpark, even when you go back as far as when my '94 was new. The transparent roof option was $650, dual roof option was $950.

A replacement OEM style roof is still $1200+ for the C4. (Yes, I know you can get an an Astro for $699 with exchange)

You answered your own question. The transparent roof, at the time of your Vette order, is $1400. If you opt for just the transparent roof, then GM credits you $650 (the cost of the body-colored roof). If you opt for the dual roof option, then you pay the full $1400 for the transparent roof, since you receive no credit for the body-colored roof that will also come with your order. Somebody already answered how to inexpensively get the transparent roof after the fact. You could also probably buy it through a GM dealer, probably at $1400 plus warehousing/distribution markups plus whatever markup the dealer adds on.
