clutch noise question

Once in a great while when I start up my 96 lt-4 ce, and let out on the clutch it make kind of a whine noise. I checked the fluid it looks fine, after a short drive the noise usually goes away for a month, then once in a while it comes back. The car drives fine, when I'm on it the tranny is locks up fine, I am thinking possibly the throw out bearing, any ideas? Also if I have to have the throwout bearing replaced, how much to have the clutch done too?

I have had the clutch bearing noise since new. Apparently it is common. I have read several posts where people had the clutch replaced and still had a noise. However, you say yours comes and goes which I am not familiar with, my throwout bearing noise is always present at idle without the clutch depressed.
